A famous character in the film business, Raj Kapoor is regarded as one of the greats of Indian cinema. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni shared a touching recollection as the Kapoor family prepares to commemorate the centennial of this movie titan's birth. She disclosed that her brother Ranbir's favorite food, which their grandfather Raj Kapoor passionately made, was a delicious butter chicken—a treat for any non-vegetarian.

Riddhima Kapoor Sahni reminisced about her time with her grandfather, Raj Kapoor, in a media engagement. She revealed that spending weekends at their Chembur home with Raj and Krishna Kapoor was one of her favorite childhood memories.

She would frequently visit with her brother Ranbir Kapoor, occasionally hosting sleepovers with friends. The mood was warm and happy since the grandparents were always so happy to have the kids around.

The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives star also revealed that Raj Kapoor, her grandpa, would prepare them meals himself. She recalled with nostalgia how he would make their favorite meals, particularly the macaroni and cheese, which became a family mainstay.

She explained that it was prepared in his distinct manner, adding a special touch that she thought contained a secret ingredient. She remembered how much love had gone into the preparation, and she could still taste the delightful flavor today.

Ranbir really liked his grandfather's butter chicken, whereas Riddhima loved mac & cheese. “His butter chicken was Ranbir’s favorite. The combinations were very weird, like butter chicken with noodles, or fried rice, or actually anything. As kids, you really don’t care; you are just loving it,” she revealed.

'Chinese aloo', a fried potato that resembles aloo tikki but is prepared in a Chinese manner, was another food she mentioned her grandma would prepare. It was a favorite meal of their childhood and was enjoyed by the whole family.

Additionally, Riddhima revealed that she and Ranbir would visit their grandparents every weekend. She reminisced about spending Sundays at Vashi's Big Splash before going to Udupi, Raj Kapoor's favorite South Indian eatery. There, he would savor the dosa and idli while taking in life's small joys. She characterized those moments as straightforward but highly enjoyable and full of treasured memories.

In the meantime, RK Films, the Film Heritage Foundation, and the NFDC-National Film Archive of India have collaborated to produce a special retrospective titled "Raj Kapoor 100 – Celebrating the Centenary of the Greatest Showman" in celebration of the actor's 100th birthday. From December 13 to 15, 10 of Raj Kapoor's iconic films will be screened in 135 theaters spread across 40 Indian cities as part of this homage.
