Mahesh Bhatt responds to Ranbir Kapoor facing scrutiny for his role in Animal!

The film Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, was released in 2023. However, even months after the film's theatrical release, debates over his role continue. Now, his father-in-law, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, has spoken out against the public criticism the actor received for playing Ranvijay in the action movie.

 

Mahesh Bhatt expressed his thoughts on the mixed reception that Ranbir Kapoor's character received in Animal, saying that it is also part of the entertainment industry. Alia Bhatt's father referred to it as a 'bloodsport', claiming that when someone enters this arena, there will be those cheering their defeat as well as those celebrating their wins. He believes that criticism and examination are part of it.

 

The Sadak 2 director further stated that Ranbir chose this life. Bhatt also emphasized that there are just a few performers in the world, while the majority of people are spectators. He believes that the world ultimately belongs to creators, not people who sit around and criticize good performers. “It takes another kind of audacity to be a performer,” Mahesh Bhatt expressed adding that there are all occupational hazards. Moreover, one can’t have both. “You stand in the sun, you get sunburnt,” he ended chat.
