According to the complaint filed with the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), the fraud is linked to a loan-cum-investment deal for the couple's now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. Kothari alleges that the funds, meant for business expansion between 2015 and 2023, were instead "misappropriated and used for personal expenses."

 

While Shilpa Shetty’s Instagram announcement framed the closure of Bastian Bandra as "the end of an era" filled with "countless memories," the timing has raised eyebrows. The legal team for Shetty and Kundra has vehemently denied the allegations, labeling them as "baseless" and stating that the dispute is civil in nature. They have also pointed to a prior adjudication by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in October 2024 as evidence that the matter has already been addressed.

 

 

The Bastian Legacy: What Happens Next?

 

While the Bandra location is now closed, the Bastian brand is not entirely gone. The restaurant's other outlet, Bastian At The Top, located on the 48th floor of the Kohinoor Square building in Dadar West, will remain operational. In her farewell note, Shilpa Shetty confirmed that the popular "Arcane Affair" Thursday night ritual will continue at this rooftop location, promising a new chapter for the brand.
