Sujoy Ghosh talks about the support he received from Amitabh Bachchan!
NEWS RATING
Recalling how everyone reacted to his script for Vidya Balan's lead role in Kahaani, King director Sujoy Ghosh recently said that it was dubbed 'bakwaas' following the box office failure of his film Aladin. He had a difficult time getting people to support his project after he had a big disappointment with the Amitabh Bachchan movie Aladin. During a recent interview, Sujoy revealed that Big B continued to be his strongest ally and that he "couldn't believe why he said yes to Aladin and he didn’t question him for the same." Ghosh reportedly remembers Bachchan telling him he would always support him and that he could work on any project he wanted.

In a recent discussion with Mashable India, Sujoy Ghosh stated that through it all, Amitabh Bachchan was his “biggest support.” He revealed that when he pitched the concept Aladin to Big B, the actor immediately agreed to take part. This made him question, but he didn't know why, so he didn't feel the need to inquire.

Ghosh remembered, "When Aladin didn’t work, I think sir was the first person who told me that you make whatever you want to, I am with you. And he did it".

Sujoy noted that although he had contacted numerous people with the Kahaani script, his reputation had suffered as a result of Aladin's failure. He said that many people wrote off his script, citing the fact that it showed a pregnant woman running through the streets of Kolkata with no action.

According to the filmmaker, this is the main reason why Amitabh's impact is evident in every scene of Kahaani. “Amit ji is everywhere in Kahaani. His song, his voiceover, he did everything. They say that when God is busy, he sends someone. God must be busy, and sir showed up,” he revealed. The filmmaker later cooperated with Amitabh on Badla.

Ghosh is getting ready for his next movie, King. For this production, he is collaborating with Suhana Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, a father and daughter duo. Abhay Verma and Abhishek Bachchan will also play important parts in King.

According to reports, the team plans to start working on King in January 2025. King is described as an action-thriller that moves quickly.
