The dates of the 78th Cannes Film Festival are set for May 13–24, 2025. A few Indian films will also have their world premieres at the event, but several Bollywood blockbusters are expected to make their mark.
Homebound, starring Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, will be shown at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Vishal Jethwa also appears in Neeraj Ghaywan's second feature film, which is financed by Karan Johar. Renowned Hollywood director Martin Scorsese joined the project as an executive producer as well. The movie has been chosen for the section on Uncertain Regard.

Aranyer Din Ratri, an Indian classic that was just restored, comes next. The recently restored Aranyer Din Ratri by Satyajit Ray will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2025, according to an official social media statement from the Film Heritage Foundation. Sharmila Tagore, a seasoned Bollywood actress who played the lead in the 1970 movie, will be present at the occasion.

Tanvi: The Great, Anupam Kher's next directing project, will get its international premiere at the renowned Cannes Film Festival 2025's Marché du Film (Cannes Film Market).

Students from the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute (SRFTI) in Kolkata made the film A Doll Made Up Of Clay, which will be shown at the 78th Festival De Cannes 2025. The short film has been chosen for the esteemed La Cinef segment. Kokob Gebrehweria Tesfay, an Ethiopian student at SRFTI, wrote and directed the film, which is set in India. Sahil Manoj Ingle is the producer. The film's executive producer is Uma Kumari.
