Beyond Aamir: Taare Zameen Par co-star Darsheel Safary's Stance!
NEWS RATING
As Aamir Khan's latest film, 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' garners significant attention and box office success, Darsheel Safary, the child actor who stole hearts in Khan's directorial debut 'Taare Zameen Par,' has opened up about his relationship with the superstar. His recent comments, particularly the statement "He is not my brother," have piqued the interest of fans and media, shedding light on his professional philosophy.

Safary, who debuted as the dyslexic Ishaan Awasthi in the critically acclaimed 'Taare Zameen Par' (2007) opposite Aamir Khan, recently addressed why he has never approached the veteran actor for work opportunities. In an interview, Safary revealed that his decision stems from a desire to carve his own path in the industry, relying on his merit rather than connections.

"People get upset that I don't ask Aamir for work. But I feel too shy to do that. He is not my brother so I can call him and say, 'Please get me a script.' My chosen path has been to [only] send him best wishes, like a text on his birthday. It's just how I preferred it," Darsheel stated.

He further elaborated that all his projects post-pandemic have been acquired through "zero contacts," emphasizing his belief in auditions and screen tests as the true measure of an actor's ability and suitability for a role. This approach highlights Safary's commitment to independent growth and self-reliance in the competitive film industry.

The timing of Safary's comments comes amidst the positive reception of 'Sitaare Zameen Par,' which is considered a spiritual successor to 'Taare Zameen Par.' While the new film, starring Aamir Khan as a basketball coach mentoring differently-abled individuals, shares thematic similarities with its predecessor, Darsheel Safary is not part of the cast. He did, however, attend the film's premiere and shared a heartfelt review, expressing that the movie made his "heart feel fuller, softer, and happier."

Darsheel's remarks underscore a mature and principled stance on his career. Despite the strong professional bond forged with Aamir Khan during 'Taare Zameen Par,' he chooses to maintain a respectful distance in terms of seeking favors, valuing his independent journey as an actor. This perspective resonates with many who admire self-made success stories in Bollywood.

'Sitaare Zameen Par,' directed by R.S. Prasanna and also starring Genelia Deshmukh, has been praised for its emotional depth and empowering message, continuing Aamir Khan's legacy of impactful cinema. As the film continues its successful run, Darsheel Safary's candid insights offer a unique glimpse into the dynamics of relationships within the industry and the aspirations of a young actor forging his own identity.
